Many condole Col Khushwaqt's death
 

CHITRAL,17 Feb, 2010: Condolence messages on the death of Colonel Shahzada Khushwaqt ul Mulk keep pouring in  Amongst the dignitaries who personally condoled the death of the late popular figure included former president  Gen Pervez Musharraf, US rep for Pakistan and Afghanistan Richard Holbrook, Governor nwfp Avais Ghani, Corps Commanders, serving and retired generals, former Governors, Judgers, top beurocrats, a large number of his friends, fans and well wishers from within the country and abroad.

 

Earlier, before leaving for Mastuj, a grand funeral was accorded to him at the Chitral fort. which was attended by officials, notables and a large number of common people.  At his burial site at Mastuj fort, a Frontier corps contingent paid him Military respects and wreaths from the IGFC and other top Generals of the Pakistan Army were laid on his grave. While his body was being carried to Mastuj in a convoy,  large number of people were waiting by the road side at different villages to pay their respect to the departing personality.

 

At Mastuj , mourners kept pouring in from far and wide to pay their respect, and many were weeping on the occasion. About the Colonel's noble traits that were highlighted by those who knew him well, his compassion for helpless animals, feeble birds, handicapped people and any of God's creature, whom he found in need of compassion, stood out as testimony of a life well spent. --(CN report)
