People resent TMA's negative attitude    

CHITRAL, 20 Jan 10: People have expressed strong resentment against the TMA attitude over hampering the functioning of a convenient transport stand at Super Market  in Chitral town restarted according to to the longstanding demand of the commuters.

At a meeting chaired by the DCO Tuesday participants strongly criticised the attitude of the TMA over creating hurdles in the way of public interest. They accused the TMO of putting personal interest ahead of public interest..

Participants of the meeting said if the government cannot provide a facility itself, it should at least not hinder those who are doing it. . Participants said the TMA should be worried about collecting its taxes and not focus on stopping or failing a particular Adda. They said  in Chitral as in every other town like Timergara, Mardan, etc there are dozens of Addas all to the benefit of the public. As long as the public approves an Adda and it is paying its taxes and not hampering traffic, the TMA has no right to stop it they said..

The DCO said that keeping in mind public sentiment and after inspecting the Adda personally he feels the said Adda should continue to operate in the public interest. Another meeting will be held in a few days to formalise the issue. he said. --(CN report)
