of the year

A survey conducted by Chitral News to find out what
Chitralis thought about whom would they vote for as the personality of
the year if they were asked to, majority said they thought Chief Justice
of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Choudhry was their choice without
competition. Reason they gave for the choice was the Justice's honesty,
uprightness, courage and commitment to duty as a dispenser of justice in
Pakistan. People said they have directly been benefitted by Justice
Choudhry's reforms, as cases rotting in the courts for decades are now
being dispensed with in months and the whole judicial machinery is on
it's toes because of this one man..
The other personality voted by those asked was Abdul Sattar Eidhi,
the legendary social worker of Pakistan, known for his simplicity and
commitment to helping humanity. . People said if our political leaders
had even an iota of the spirit of Justice Iftikhar Choudhry and Abdul
Sattar Eidhi, this country would never have been caught in the quagmire
that we are in . Some people expressed cautious optimism about the
future of the country while others expressed their indifference (the

کی نظر میں سال کی شخصیت
سال کے اختتام پر 'اخبار چترال' نے ایک سروے
کیا جس میں چترالیوں سے رایے لی گئی کے اگر انکو
سال کی شخصیت کیلئے ووٹ دینا ہو تو وہ
کس شخصیت کو چنیں گے. بھاری اکثریت سے لوگوں نے چیف جسٹس افتخار محمد
چودھری کو اس کا حقدار قرار دیا اور وجہ انکی ایمانداری ' صداقت اور جرات
قرار دیا. لوگوں نے کہا کہ افتخار چودھری کی وجہ سے عدالتوں میں عشروں سے
سڑھتے ہوے کیس اب مہینوں میں انجام کو پہنچ جاتے ہیں' اور لوگوں کو عدالتوں
سے انصاف ملنے کی امید پیدا ہو گئی ہے. اس کے علاوہ بہت سے لوگوں نے ممتاز
سوشل ورکرعبدل الستارعیدھی کو بھی اس کا حقدار قرار دیا. لوگوں نے کھا کے
اگر ہمارے سیاسی رہنماؤں میں ان درج بالا دو حضرات کا زرہ برابر اوصاف بھی
موجود ہوتیں تو یہ ملک اس حالت کو نہ پہنچتا...اخبار
