Chitral city bereft of
electricity
A meeting to review the abject electricity situation in Chitral town was
held with the DCO in the chair. The meeting was attended by the RE
Chitral power house, RE Reshun power house, XEN Shydo Drosh, Acting
Wapda distribution SDO, grid station responsibles, Chitral Scouts
representative and members of the Electricity Restoration Committee. The
meeting was briefed by the respective Engineers.
It was shockingly revealed that neither the newly functional
Shishi power house nor the powerful Reshun power house could supply
electricity to Chitral town as them being already overloaded in their
own areas (according to the respective engineer managers). It was clear
that Chitral town was left in the lurch with a feeble power house and
equally sick management of both power production and distribution .
Members of the Electricity Restoration Committee expressed strong
resentment over mismanagement and mis-coordination between various
electricity providers. They recommended immediate cessation of provision
of free electricity to electricity employees and implementation of
strict accountability in these corruption riddled organisations.
Members volunteered to work at the water head of the Chitral power
station to divert more water into the power channel which was one reason
given by the RE for inadequate electricity production.--( CN report, 23

ڈی سی او چترال کے دفتر میں چترال شہر
کیلئے بجلی بحالی کے سلسلے میں میٹنگ ہوی جس میں چترال کے تمام سرکاری بجلی
گھروں کے ذمہ واروں کے علاوہ چترال سکاوٹس کے نمائندے اور بجلی بحالی کمیٹی
کے ممبران نے شرکت کی. اجلاس می آشکارا ہوا کہ نہ شیشی بجلی گھر سے اور نہ
ریشن بجلی گھر سے چترال شهر کو بجلی فراہم کی جاسکتی ہے کیونکہ بقول ان
انجنیروں کے وہاں پر بجلی کی مانگ پہلے ہی زیادہ ہے. بجلی کمیٹی کے ممبران
نے بجلی کے محکموں میں بدعنوانی اور بد انتظامی پر شدید تنقید کیا اس
محکمے میں فوری احتساب کا مطالبہ کیا. ممبران نے بجلی محکمےکے کارندوں کو
مفت بجلی کی فراہمی فوری طور پر روکنے کا مطالبہ کیا...اخبار
