Wapda official's case

ISLAMABAD: The Senate standing committee on water and power has taken
harsh stance of patronization of a corrupt official of Wapda Chitral who
is behind the unending electricity crisis in the town.
Taking note of a news item appearing in daily Business Recorder, ANP
Senator Zahid Khan took up the issue of Ghulam Rashid, the Wapda
superintendent in Chitral who has remained posted in the district for
the last 25 years, at the meeting of the committee here.
Ghulam Rashid is the most powerful official in Chitral if not in NWFP
because of his good relations with the high-ups of the department.
Zahid Khan said this episode tells the whole story that how one could
change his place of posting when he has learned that the bosses are
always right and serving them is the most valuable thing to enjoy
comfort of working at the same station for the last 25 years.
He went on saying that now the people of the area have started thinking
that the lowly official is so indispensable that it is difficult to find
his replacement. It is high time for Wapda to at least transfer him out
to clear the public image that his chair is very strong, he remarked
sarcastically.
Tahir Basharat Cheema, MD PEPCO showed ignorance when Senator Zahid Khan
asked him to explain the story of his blue-eyed boy before the
committee. However, he assured the Senate body to initiate an inquiry
why the official had not been transferred for such a long time --(

کمیٹی میں سوال کیا کہ کیا وجہ ہے کہ چترال میں واپڈا کا ایک سپرڈنٹ غلام
رشید گزشتہ پچیس سالوں سے براجمان ہے اور عوام کے بھرپور مطالبہ کے
باوجود اس کو تبدیل نہیں کیا جاتا. انہوں نےسوال کیا کہ کیا واپڈا انتظامی
طور پر اتنا دیوالیہ ہو چکا ہے کہ ایک سپرڈنٹ کے بغیر اسکا کام نہیں چلتا
یا کیا اس افسر کے اپنے افسران بالا کے ساتھہ خصوصی تعلقات ہیں . ایم ڈی
پیپکو طاہر بشارت چیمہ نے اس بارے لا علمی کا اظہار کیا اوروعدہ کیا کے وہ
