CHITRAL, 18 Nov 08:  A 'Teacher of Teachers', Mr. Zar Khan, of Govt High School Arkari retired on November 6th, 2009 after serving the Govt. Education Department Chitral for over 41 years. A grand farewell Ceremony was organized on November 18th, 2009 at the GHS Arkari to honor Mr Khan and acknowledge his invaluable services to education. The ceremony was presided over by Dr. Mir Afzal Tajik and the participants included Mr. Muhammad Karam, Manager AKPBS, Mr. Amir Mohammad, Manager FOCUS, local leadership of Arkari valley, and a large number of teachers and students from the valley schools.
Speakers highlighted Mr Zar Khan’s priceless contributions to education and his long-served leadership to the valley of Arkari. Mr Khan while reflecting on his 41-years services mentioned that he is proud to be the teacher of some of the highly educated individuals including Dr. Tajik, M. Karam, Amir Mohammad, Zohran Shah, Islamuddin and many others who are in leadership positions in AKDN, Govt. and other private organizations. Mr Khan’s services were also acknowledged through Khowar poetry by some of his former students.--(Fida Mohammad)
