Utility stores fleece Chitralis

CHITRAL, 23 Oct 09: Utility Stores corporation, stores in Chitral, have been selling sugar at the rate of Rs 40 per Kg against the officially declared price of Rs 38/kg. for quite some time now.

Chairman Citizens Vigilance Committee Wg Cdr (r) Fardad Ali Shah and members of the committee have demanded refund of the extorted (over charged) money which runs into millions and give severe punishment to the responsibles of the Utility stores who have been robbing the poor people of Chitral in broad daylight.

The committee expressed anguish over increasing boldness in corruption within government departments and absence of any fear of retribution.

The committee maintained that the wrath of God on the country as is being experienced these days is basically because of continuously trampling the rights of helpless human beings by corruption hardened government functionaries.

The committee demanded exemplary punishment to all corrupt government functionaries as a need of the hour and demanded that  it should be done without any delay or hesitation. --(CN report)
