CHITRAL: 13 Oct 09: Mother’s day was observed here Sunday at Pamir Public School and College Garam Chashma.. Speeches and performances highlighted the role of mothers in the up bringing and education of children.

Dr. Mir Afzal Tajik of the Aga Khan University was the chief guest while Sahib Nadir Advocate presided over the function. In their speeches both the dignitaries urged upon the mothers and students to pursue quality education, without which competitive advantage in the emerging world was not possible. They lauded the role of Pamir School and College in the promotion of quality education.

Prizes were distributed among the students who had done well in their studies. Mohammad Ali Shah received Excellence Award, for securing highest marks in physical sciences group in Chitral District. The award had been announced by DrTajik last year and Mr Ali is its first recipient. At the end Syed Durdana Shah led the prayer for the success and glory of the Pamir system of education.  --(CN report)
