CHITRAL, 08 Oct 09: Few days back some PTCL consumers received calls from (04235503497, Lahore Call Centre) about the start of DSL services in Chitral district. The caller (Miss Mehrin) took Id numbers, telephone number and detailed addresses for the pre-registrations. She also mentioned that the modems would be installed within three days.  On contact with responsible officials in PTCL Chitral, they showed ignorance of any such development in PTCL department in Chitral. They did not have any such information and facilities and said that such installation needs at least six month for the operation of DSL service, DSL service has already provided to the Mardan, Taimargarah, Gilgit and Skardu areas etc, but district Chitral is still waiting this modern facility. PTCL high ups need to probe this misinformation and also take immediate steps to start DSL service for Chitral district. --(BH Azad)
