PPP infighting gets ugly

CHITRAL, 23 May 09: Hand to hand Street fight between two groups of PPP in Chitral took place again on Saturday in the heart of the town.  The two groups after coming face to face, challenged each other and then got physical with fists and blows.  Several workers from both sides received injuries including the gen secy and  a senior worker Haji Abdur Rehman.  The later was admitted to the district headquarter hospital. Police have registered cases on complaints from both sides.

It may be pointed out that the present organisation fell from grace with the workers, after their 'election fixing' against the party in the last general elections was exposed by an insider and ever since the workers are demanding their removal.

Inability to muster the workers confidence despite the party being in government and the district organisation using all kinds of 'carrots' including schemes and funds etc to lure workers, is a matter of absolute failure on the part of the district president and general secretary. --(CN report)
