Lowari Tunnel on track, GM

Chitral 28 Aug 08: Construction work on the Lowari tunnel project which shall provide Chitral an all weather road connection to the rest of the country, is on track and on schedule. This was stated by the general manager National Highway Authority, Col (r) Salman Rashid  while talking to Chitral News Wednesday.  He said only 1.2 Km of the 8.6 Km is left to be dug and hopefully the ends would meet early November this year .

Present on the occasion was Project Director Lowari Tunnel project, Engr Abdul Samad who also expressed satisfaction on the progress of ground work and expressed the hope that the tunnel would be completed well within the scheduled time. The two officials stressed the need for a congenial security environment for the project to progress unhindered and hoped political and opinion leaders would play their due role in promoting the same.
