Judicial facility set up in Chitral

PESHAWAR: Chief Justice of Peshawar High Court Justice Ijaz Afzal Khan has ordered the establishment of sub-registry of Mingora Bench of the PHC in Chitral for the institution of new cases.

The chief justice established the bench while exercising his powers conferred by Rule 11 of the Peshawar High Court (Establishment of Benches) Rules, 1982, said a press release. Meanwhile, about 273 under-trial prisoners involved in petty criminal cases were released from different jails in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The chief justice had directed all the district and sessions judges and judicial magistrates to visit jails in their areas for disposal of cases of all under-trial prisoners involved in petty cases. After these directives, the judges visited the jails and decided the cases  --'The News', 28 Aug 2011
