Hydro Turbine course held
Taxila -- GIZ and Hydrolink jointly organized a one week Capacity
Building Training for local manufacturers, practitioners and AKRSP
Engineers belonging to Chitral and Skardu, representative from
Alternative Energy Development Board (AEDB) also participated in the
training.
The training was organized in CRE (Center for Renewable and
Alternative Energy for Mountain People) at Hydrolink Engineering
Company at Taxila. Mr. Gehard Fisher, the Pioneer and expert of T-15
Crossflow Turbine was the resource person of the training- The
training was aimed to further develop the Capacity of local
manufactures in manufacturing of turbines, and to share the quality
aspects of T-15 technology with the practitioners and engineers
working in micro hydel projects.
It is pertinent to say here that T15 Crossflow Turbine is Certified
Technology being Licensed from Entec Indonesia, is more efficient
and can be used in medium head and discharge up to 125KW, GIZ and
AKRSP may assist the local manufacturers to upgrade the license up
to 300KW in near future, which will be very fruitful for the
Communities of remote areas, who are benefiting from Micro Hydel
Power Plants.
Hydrolink is pioneer in arranging training for operators and
Community management groups on the job to ensure the sustainability
of micro hydel projects in Chitral and other part of Northern Areas.
Engr. Fazli Rabbi , CEO of Hydrolink, thanked GIZ for organizing such trainings and told the media
that Hydrolink has also scheduled training for more than 40 Mhp
Operators from Shangla & Kohistan with the coordination of GAA/WHH
Islamabad, a German NGO working in Pakistan, and expecting to invite
operators from Chitral and Skardu with the coordination of AEDB
Pakistan.
