FIR against power demonstrators condemned

Chitral --Wg Cdr (rtd) Fardad Ali Shah, PTI leader, President All pensioners Association and social worker, has strongly condemned the act of registering an FIR against peaceful demonstrators demanding electricity restoration and curb on the active drug mafia in Chitral. In a press statement issued from Islamabad,  he said that using rough tactics and displaying fascism against peaceful people speaks of the failure of the administration and can have long term adverse repercussions on the social structure of the area. He said, all Chitralis must support those who are fighting for their minimum civic rights and Chitralis must not display lack of moral courage by being indifferent and silent onlookers in such situations, otherwise no one will come forward to speak for them. He demanded immediate cancellation of the unjustified FIR and asked the administration to consider themselves as servant of the people and not masters. -- CN report, 31 July 2012.
