PTCL declines DSL connections to customers

Chitral -- DSL service was inaugurated with much pomp and show in Chitral town about two months back, but after giving few connections to selected customers the company has stopped giving further connections. Close to a hundred applicants of central Chtral Town, who are waiting for DSL connection since the last one month, were very critical about the claims of the PTCL versus their actual performance on ground. Some applicants talking to Chitral News said PTCL should admit its failure and publish it in newspapers that they are unable to provide DSL connections to residents of Chitral town despite their stated claim. Customers feel that despite privatization of the company, the culture of inefficiency, graft and mismanagement continues to haunt this institution which has the unfair advantage of having monopoly in this field and probably that is the reason for its careless and indifferent attitude..--CN report, 05 Oct 2011.
