Why not Grand Alliance
against Corruption ??
- letter
In
India all political parties have agreed to form a grand
alliance against corruption. Here in Pakistan there also
is talk about grand alliance, but against what - against
the sitting government !.
Let us believe (and with good reasons) that the
present government is dirty corrupt and needs to be
removed, but what
after that - who will replace them.
Each and every party in the opposition alliance has been
tried out and miserably failed. A grand alliance to
overthrow the incumbent government and replace it with
those in opposition is a classic case of 'more of the
same'
If Pakistani political parties cannot form an alliance
against corruption which is the biggest threat to our
existence, then we need a change of system. Rotation of
faces does not mean continuation of democracy.
A paradigm change is a must if Pakistan is to make any
headway to the
positive zone -- Faridul
