DSL service, a pain in the neck:
Although technically Chitral town has DSL internet
facility provided by PTCL, but practically this service is a big
nuisance as it is out of order most of the time. No body in the
department is ready to own the responsibility for ensuring a
reliable service. Every body puts the blame on 'media' saying
media is out of order but who is supposed to look after the
media, nobody knows. Chitralis demand private companies to set
up wireless internet service in Chitral town at least, to
liberate the users from being captive suscribers of PTCL.-- CN

Tunnel to be opened on daily basis
shortly??: Federal Communications Minister has said
that Lowari tunnel would be opened on daily basis shortly after
he holds meeting with the chairman NHA, it was leant here. It
may be mentioned that two months ago the Minister had made the
same promise to a representative delegation from Chitral but did
not fulfill his promise, resulting in great misery for the poor
travelers during this time. Now that the cat is out of the bag
that no serious work is going on inside the tunnel, it may be
opened on daily basis, but it is too late and too little to give
credit to the government. However any further delay in doing the
needful would increase the hatred and contempt towards the
government to an un redeemable level..--
